Before exploring the social media sphere further, I did a small experiment myself. I tried to link my blog to Twitter, so that every time I would post something here, Twitter would post the header. This was a far more cumbersome process than I thought and I did not succeed. Then I sat up a video blog for my fellow classmates in our shared kitchen at our university. That is, I sat up a computer linked to a DV cam and the internet. I took almost a full day to make it work properly. When I had figured out the technical aspects, I typed down the ground rules: "no adult material" and "don't be evil". Over the coming week, it'll be exciting to see how providing social media broadcasting to a group of people, without any training up front, is going to play out. The link to the videoblog is http://bambuser.com/channel/esvideoblogg, enjoy.
All in all, I found that social media broadcasting equipment is far from as easy to set up as I initially had the impression of. In term of man hours, social media is not a cheap endeavor.
